Organic coconut sugar is gained from the sap of coconut tree by cutting the tree’s flower bud stem. The sap is then mixed with water, boiled, evaporated and crystallized. Once it is solidified into brick, it is then ground into small granules.

Organic coconut sugar contains nutrient that is found in coconut, such as zinc, potassium, iron and calcium. Additionally, organic coconut sugar also consists of soluble fiber inulin which helps to reduce the blood sugar spikes and can improve the gut health.  This is because there is only small amount of inulin per serving of coconut sugar.  Hence, organic coconut sugar is the better sweetener option for people with diabetes.

Natural coconut sugar is different from palm sugar. Palm sugar or arenga sugar is obtained from the trunk of palm tree. Palm sugar has a smoky caramel taste, while coconut sugar has a caramel taste. In comparison to palm sugar, organic coconut sugar is better in nutrition. It is high in minerals, and is low in fructose and glycemic. Organic coconut sugar also contains antioxidant and phytonutrients, such as flavonoids, polyphenols, and anthocyanidin.

There are 100 gram of carbohydrates contained in every 100 gram of organic coconut sugar, in which 75 gram are sugar.  Organic coconut sugar is processed without the addition of preservatives or chemical, and non GMO (without genetic modification).
